Education plays a critical role in addressing the issue of climate change and driving the transition to a sustainable future. By improving the quality and accessibility of education and developing people’s knowledge, attitudes, and behaviors towards climate change, the world can witness more effective and swifter changes.
effective and swifter changes.
Educating the young ones will motivate the younger generations to take action. When equipped with knowledge, they can become agents of change in their community, advocating for sustainable practices, raising awareness, and driving positive environmental actions. The foundation recognizes that educating young children on climate change issues will help them understand its impacts on their future and develop the skills and knowledge needed to create a sustainable future. It will also empower children to take action and become responsible global citizens. Therefore, TGED Foundation continues its ESSP initiative, targeting private primary schools in Ado-Ekiti to achieve a healthy and sustainable environment by educating pupils on climate change.
The ESSP team educates the students on climate change, how fast it’s happening and the dangers it poses to us and the generations yet unborn. They were also educated on the need to act to be in check as now is the time.
It was an interesting session all through the program and the students were excited to gain a whole lot of new knowledge. They also expressed their desire to be agents of change in their homes and communities.
Lastly, as it goes without saying “catch them young” TGED Foundation will not rest on its oars to ensure that everyone is carried along in this fight against climate change to ensure a healthy green environment.
