Climate change is the biggest environmental problem facing our planet today. The effects of climate change don’t affect animals and plants alone, but also human life as well. Education on climate change is crucial as it remains a strong tool in fighting such environmental menace. Climate change education is important to children ,especially school pupils who are the future generation because they will grow up with sustainable and environmentally friendly habits.
In order to promote and continue the fight against climate change, Triple Green Environmental Development Foundation (TGED Foundation) embarked on her Eco Savers School Project (ESSP) which was focused on helping to achieve a well healthy and sustainable environment through educating people , especially children and youths on climate change.
TGED Foundation team were at BlueCrest Nursery and Primary School, Ado Ekiti, Ekiti State on the 29th of June 2022 to teach and sensitize the pupils on climate education.

The team stated that the planet is losing its strength on a daily basis, which is mainly as a result of man’s inability to critically pay attention to the changes that are occurring in his environment. They further urged the pupils to be very attentive to all that will be taught that day and to follow the steps in making our environment a better place to be.

A video was also played for the children, this was to help in informing the pupils about how urgent it is for everyone on the planet to come together and fight climate change. This was followed by a pre test and post test questions, which was to help in accessing the pupils knowledge on climate change. After that, the children asked various questions on how they can join in the fight for climate change as well as how they can help in spreading the news about climate change. The pupils were told to start the fight against climate change by educating their classmates, friends, siblings, parents, neighbors on climatic issues , its effects on our environment , and ways on how to fight it.

As the world continues to strive in ensuring a better and healthier environment for all lives on earth, it is important to create awareness so that our planet will become a more habitable place for all.
