Summary:

Collaboration is essential for achieving a sustainable environment. It brings together diverse expertise, resources and perspective to tackle complex environmental challenges. By working together, stakeholders can leverage their strengths and address issues more comprehensively, leading to innovative solutions and effective implementation of environmental initiatives. Collaborations also foster knowledge sharing, capacity building, and mutual support, creating a network of partners committed to common goals.

TGED Foundation, a beacon of environmental sustainability embarked on an advocacy visit to the office of the National Emergency Management Board [NEMA]. This significant meeting convened on the 20^th of February 2024, with a twofold objective: to extend a warm welcome to the new State Director and to reignite the longstanding relationship between the two organizations.

Key Points Discussed:  

1. Introduction of TGED Foundation: Ms. Oluwaseyi Ebenezer, the CEO of TGED Foundation, conveyed their sincere regards to the newly appointed State Director, Mr Kofoworola expressing eagerness to collaborate with the agency. Additionally, discussion centered on exploring avenues for synergistic efforts to address environmental challenges and enhance resilience in the face of natural disasters. 

2. Collaboration Opportunities: The Foundation expressed keen interest in collaborating with NEMA on a spectrum of environmental initiatives, ranging from awareness campaigns to community engagement and other environmental sustainability programs.

3. Appreciation and Encouragement: Mr. Kofoworola, the State Director of NEMA,  reciprocated the warm sentiments and promise to work together with the foundation. He discussed further that the agency is also working towards their plan for the year and the update will be communicated to the foundation once it’s finalized.

 4. Shared Vision: Both parties articulated a shared vision of promoting environmental awareness and fostering behavioral change at the grassroots level. 

Conclusion:

This meeting served as a testament to the shared commitment to advancing environmental sustainability and disaster preparedness. It underscored the importance of fostering partnerships and leveraging collective expertise to safeguards communities and promote a more resilient future. As both organization look forward to renewed collaboration and joint initiative, the advocacy visit laid a solid foundation for future endeavors aimed at mitigating environmental risks and ensuring the well-being of a society at large.
